Cash for Life

Cash for Life is a daily lottery which works differently to other NJ games as it offers a top prize worth $1,000 a day for life. It can also be played in multiple other states if you find yourself across the border, but New Jersey was one of the two original members and it is the only place where you can add the Doubler option for a chance to win twice as much in most prize levels.

How to Play

It could not be simpler to play Cash for Life. All you need to do is select six numbers and make a few other quick choices. A full step-by-step guide is outlined below. Each play costs $2.

• Pick five numbers from 1 to 60 and a Cash Ball between 1 and 4. Get a Quick Pick if you would rather have a random selection than choose your own.
• Add the Doubler option for an extra $1 per play and any non-jackpot prizes you win will be doubled.
• Indicate whether you would prefer to have the annuity or the lump sum if you won the first or second prize.
• Use the Multi-Draw section to enter up to 28 consecutive drawings.

Cash for Life drawings take place at 9:00 pm. Ticket sales close at 8:46 pm. Keep in mind that if you are in another state, the cut-off time may be different.

Odds and Prizes

There are nine ways to win in Cash for Life, so prizes start from matching just one main number and the Cash Ball. The value of payouts increases as you match more numbers, and the top two prizes have an annuity option or a cash option.

If you match all six numbers, you can choose to receive $1,000 a day for life, or a lump sum of $7 million. If you match all five main numbers without the Cash Ball, your options are $1,000 a week for life or $1 million as a lump sum.

With the annuity option, there is a minimum duration of 20 years, so the remaining money would go to a winner's estate if they died early.
